Mission

Since I was young, my mission has been to tell stories.

I first imagined I’d do that through fiction, but journalism found me when I least expected it. At Emory & Henry University, I fell in love with broadcasting through WEHC, a little station with a big heart. There, I learned how many stories were already around me.

My favorite work was always about art. I loved giving a voice to local businesses, a platform for small artists, and a broader home for the pulsing atmosphere that can only be found at a music festival. I learned to trace the trails that connected creativity to community.

That’s when I realized I didn’t just want to tell fictional stories. Because some of the best ones were already true. I declared second major in media & communications and began to follow the stories wherever they led me.

Today, I am continuing that work as a journalist and storyteller. For NYU, I’ve reported on politics to  economic histories to hidden fan communities. As I am beginning my freelance career, balancing my announcing work with Radio IQ and reporting on the stories that matter, I’m not bound to a single beat. I am guided by my own curiosity and the voices of people who crave to be heard.

Whether systematic fractures or the beauty of everyday art, my mission remains the same: to listen deeply, write honestly, and tell real stories about real people.
